2010 August - This month has started pretty well for the family again. We headed over for the WWWA shows in Auburn, WA. The first day we had a great time and enjoyed our whippet friends, not bringing home any wins. But on Saturday we were able to a little more in the ring. I showed "Cosette" - Am/Can Ch. Tivio's Soiree in the 10 -12 Veteran regular class. Cosette was awarded Best Veteran and the only Award Of Merit given, along with a Bitch Select towards her Grand Championship. Pretty good for the old gal who will be 12 in November. Not be out shined, "Raquel" - Ch. Tivio's Exotic Wood was shown by her owner - Cheryl Adams in the 12 & Over Sweeps and Regular classes. On Friday she went BOS in Sweeps and on Saturday she went Best Veteran in Sweeps!!!! Yeah Raquel & Cheryl. Raquel will be 13 yrs old in September. We only showed one class male for his first time and he did well placing in his class both days despite his over enthusiasm. A beautiful young bitch who we co-bred went won the Open class and went RWB on Saturday - Evergo's Sketch of the Nations. Congrats to her owners and co-breeders. While we were having fun in Seattle our friends went up to Alaska and did well with their puppy out of a Tivio girl - "Brooke" Orion's World Is Not Enough went WB/BOW/BOB AND Hound Group 2nd from the bred by class for a BIG 5 pt. major!!!!!!! Congrats to her breeders/owners/handlers - Curtis Freeling & Justin Dannenbring. I will post pics of all these dogs once I get them!!! We ended this month with a dog show in Enumclaw, WA. Libby - Tivio's Painted To Please was awarded WB/BOW on Sunday and we showed our co-owned Pointer - "Mick" - Tahari's Burn Notice at the Sporting Specialty show on Thursday where he went RWD. We showed him again over the wknd and on Saturday he picked up a 4 pt major!!! Our big August news is the puppies arrived - Steven x Lark. Born Aug. 22nd. 8 girls and 3 boys!!!! July - This month we decided to head north of the border. We had not shown in Canada for several years and missed doing so. Our friends from Arizona decided it sounded like great fun and came up to join us with their whippet "Flirt" - Ch. Tivio's Falling In Love (Flynn x Lucia). The wknd of July 17 & 18 we headed up to Surrey, B.C. for two days of shows. The first day at the Western Gazehound Specialty, "Flirt" went WB/BOW/BOS and Best Bred-by. The following day at the Sighthound Club of B.C. Specialty, "Flirt" went WB/BOW. So, she came back to the states half way through her Canadian Championship!!! That same wknd over in Calgary, Alberta - "Party" - Tivio Paint The Town Red went to shows with her owner Carla Badick and went WB/BOW/BOB and Hound Group 2. The following day she went WB/BOW to finish her Canadian Championship - WAY TO GO Carla & Party!!!!! Party finished in 4 shows. We ended our month travelling up to Calgary to meet up with friends and show the dogs. It was a great wknd as we had friends from Colorado, Arizona, California and Canada. We ended up splitting the points/wins amongst everyone, so it made for a fun and successful wknd for all. Chief and Jilly each came home with 7 pts, Flirt went home with 8 pts., Enzo went home with 9 pts and Brooke went home with 3 pts. We did a group picture to remember our fun time. June - We had a busy month, but managed to fit in a few shows. Our biggest news this month is "Jilly" - Tivio's Painted With Style - finished with Back-to-Back Major wins at the Cascade Hound Show under Breeder Judges - Jamie Souza-Bartlett & Kalen Dumke!!! Jilly has had quite the show career finishing with 4 majors (3 won at Specialties under Breeder Judges) and 2 Specialty BISweeps wins. Jilly will now take some time off to be a dog and finish growing up. While I was in AZ, John and Caroline attended the Great Falls, MT shows. The first day "Libby" went RWB to the major and "Lincoln" went Best Bred-By and 1st in the Bred-By Group!! The following day "Lincoln" went WD and "Enzo" - Tivio's On Target at Carrera went BOB - owner handled by Judy Walton. We are enjoying some time off and will be back in the ring next month!
May - This month started out fun! We attended the Walla Walla shows. "Jilly" - Tivio's Painted With Style was our only entry and she went WB/BOW/BOB over Specials from the Bred-By class!!! We did not show her in the Group as the weather was horrible and I didn't want her first group experience to be an unpleasant one! Then over Memorial Day we attended two days of shows in Spokane, WA. The first day, "Reed"- Obailee's Ring My Belle went WD/BOW. "Libby"- Tivio's Painted To Please went WB and "Mattie" - Tivio's Foreign Affair went RWB. The next day "Reed" went WD/BOW again!! We also showed our Pointer for his first shows with me handling him. He was the only class animal both days, but went BOS from the 9 -12 class over the dog Special on Saturday for his first point!!! Yeah - "Mick" - Tahari's Burn Notice. Mick is owned by Wayne & Cheryl Adams and Tivio. April - We attended the AWC Nat'l in Tucson this month. We had a great time and incorporated extra time to vacation with our kids and friends. The Nat'l was a busy time for Tracy heading up the Judges Education Seminar this year, but we found time to show our dogs and visit with friends we only get to see at the National typically. The dogs all showed well and made us proud. Tivio Paint The Town Red- "Party" won her Futurity class with his sister Tivio's Painted To Please "Libby" going 3rd!!! Thank you Judge Linda Johnson! You can see candid pictures of both girls on their pages. Both girls and their brother Lincoln were shown in the big Open & Bred-by classes all making cuts, but no placements. We are very proud of these young dogs and excited about their future. Tracy had the honor of showing one of her favorite dogs in Veteran this year - "Face" - NSBIS Select DC Poppy Hills My Brave Face, FCh, MC,OTR,SRE and he went 2nd in his 10 -12 year class. Thank you John for bringing Face and letting the whippet folks see what a wonderful dog he still is!! We came home after being gone about 2 wks and are getting needed rest!!! March - "Party" - Tivio Paint The Town Red goes WB at her first AKC show. Party is co-owned with Carla Badick - Nasusa Whippets. February - We started this month attending our first show for the year. John and I drove down to Albany, OR for one of our favorite show wknds. We love this venue and had a great wknd thanks to Lincoln and Libby!!! The first day "Lincoln" Tivio's Custom Paint and Chrome, went WD/BOW/BOB over Specials from the 9 -12 class! Then onto a Hound Group 3rd!!! His sister "Libby" Tivio's Painted To Please, was shown in the Bred-by class by John and went WB/BOS and Best bred-by..then Bred-by Group 3rd!!! The following day Lincoln went WD/BOW again. Pretty fun wknd to say the least! Lincoln is co-owned with Allen Nowatzki & John Garrison. Libby is co-owned/bred with Carol Willumsen. That same wknd in Colorado "Anna" new Ch. Tivio's Adored (Russell x Megan) won her 3rd major to finish with owner/handler Judy Walton - Way to go Judy!!!!! The following wknd "Jilly" - Tivio's Painted With Style - picked up her second major!!!!! January - This month was pretty exciting with "Jilly" - Tivio's Painted With Style, started her day at the San Diego Whippet Club Specialty going Best In Sweeps under breeder Judge Kathy Thomas (Watch Me) and onto a Group 2nd in the Sweepstakes Hound Group. This show was held in conjunction with the Empire Hound Show. She followed up her Sweeps win a with a big 4 pt. major going WB/BOW and Best Puppy from the 9 -12 class under Breeder Judge Donna Lynch (Hamyra). Jilly is owned and handled by Ed & Mary Jean Odron and co-owned with Tracy Hite and Carol Willumsen. Great job Eddie!!!! A week later at the Puyallup Cluster "Hannah" - new Ch. Obailee's Belle du Jour finished from the bred-by class with owner/handler Stacey Davis. Hannah is co-owned/co-bred by Stacey Davis, Chris Abraham, Tracy & John Hite. Great job Stacey!!!!!
