2008

January - This month started with Palm Springs shows. "Quinn" (shown below) debuted going BOS Sweepstakes, Best Puppy and Puppy Hound Group 2nd!!! We are very excited about this puppy and his future. Quinn's older half brother, "Steven" Tivio's Falling For You was also shown that wknd and went WD from the Bred-by class for a major! We are very proud of Steven for showing so well in such horrible weather - the wind was blowing us (and the awnings) away. Steven is owned by Robert Edison, John Jarvis and Tivio. The following wknd we attended the Puyallup shows and are very excited to announce our first Champion for the year - "Belle" Obailee's Isabella finished with back to back major wins. Belle is co-bred and co-owned by Stacey Davis & Tracy Hite. Funny that Belle is our first Champion for 2008 and her brother - Obailee's Ponce was our last champion of 2007! Congrats to Stacey and Chris on these lovely young dogs. We also want to congratulate Dr. Robert Mushen and Jenee Pearce-Mushen for their girl "Annie" Am/Can BIS/SBIS Ch. Nobilty's Anne Boleyn Tivio,CGC for being the #1 Whippet in Canada for 2007 and #2 Hound!!!!! We are taking off the rest of January, but will keep you posted as News comes in from friends and family.

We are so thrilled to have Lark in our home. Lark easily acquired three majors, BOB from the classes(several major RWBs) and needs only 1 point to finish with limited showing. We are very grateful to Carol Harris for letting her join the Tivio clan.

Update - Lark finished in style going BOB from the classes and onto a Group 3. The following day we moved her up and she went BOB and Group 2nd.

"Lucia" - Has given us all a wonderful few years of excitement. We would like to thank all the breeders, Judges, and whippet folks who supported Lucia. Lucia is the ended her campaign as the top winning American bred whippet bitch in the history of our breed. She is proud to be the second all time winningst bitch to the beautiful import - Ch. Flornell Glamorous who was shown in the early 1940s. Lucia will now rest on her laurels and take a stab at the whelping box. She has also started coursing and racing where she is pointed in both and has a Best in Field at an AKC Whippet specialty trial - at her very first AKC trial competition!! Lucia has however, out done herself again and given us a beautiful litter of 8 pups - 4 males and 4 females. All these pups hit the show ring early 2007 - 6 out of the 8 pups are pointed with 4 out of the 8 having Best of Breed wins from the classes. You can see some of them below.

Lucia was ranked as the Number #1 All-Breed whippet in 2003 & 2004.

"Chief" finsihed his AKC championship easily as a young dog of 9 months with Breed wins and group placements. He was shown sparingly in 2003 finishing the year with a BIS and multiple Group placements. He was only shown two wknds in 2004, which Garnered more group placements and a three day weekend of Whippet and Hound Specialties where he was awarded SPECIALTY BEST IN SHOW, AWARD OF MERIT, and SPECIALTY BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX. Not too bad for being out of the ring for 8 months prior. Thank you to the whippet wknd Judges - Shelley Hennessy (Chaparral), Randall Tinchner (Tripletime), and Hound Judge T. Fortner Jackson. In 2006 we dragged him off the couch for the AWC National where he was awarded the 1st Award of Merit by Mrs. Anne Rogers Clark - THANK YOU!!!!! Chief was at the National in Kansas and then the WWWA Specialties in 2007 being awarded AOMs both days. He will continue to be shown occassionally at special events.

Chief finished his ASFA field title on June 19th, 2005 going BOB from the Open stakes at the ASFA Region 1 Invitational trial.

Chief is proving to be a asset in the whelping box with multiple AKC & CKC Champions, Multiple Group winning, major pointed, and ASFA and AKC pointed get.

Below are some of Chief's kids who are doing well in the ring and field: "Dougie" - CH. Red Cloud Tivio Touchstone, JC, CR. (SBIS/BISBIF Select Ch. Tivio's Chiricahua, FCh x Ch. RedCloud Tivio Quenelle, JC) Breeders: Barbara Nyby and Tracy Hite Owners: Michael Allen & John Garrison Dougie finished with four majors. He was handled by Mary Dukes and his owner Michael Allen. He is pictured below with Mary Dukes at 5 months of age. Then winning his first major at 7 months of age with owner - Michael Allen. Then a Head shot taken at 11 months and finally the candid of Dougie at 12 months taken in January 05'. Sadly, Dougie's career in the field and ring are over due to a very serious and permanent injury that occured during a lure coursing. Although Dougie is in no pain, he is limited physically. We are however very excited to see how he does as a sire with his incredible pedigree. Dougie's first litter is on the ground and we are very excited about the potential of these pups. She finished with her third major going WB/BOW at the WWWA Supported entry August 24th under Breeder Judge Ms. Kalen Dumke. Zana also went WB/BOW under Breeder Judge Mary Beth Arthur (Marial) at 7 months of age. She is a multilpe Best in Sweeps winner and Group Winner. Her first wknd out as a Special awarded her BOB under Hound Judge Pam Levander and onto a Group 2nd under Judge Sharon Krogh. She then took a few months off and came back to win BOB and the Hound Group under Hound Judge Karen Doyle. Zana was bred once and procuded a beautiful litter. One of the Champions from this litter is pictured below - "Ponce" Multi BISweeps Ch. Obailee's Ponce Ponce finished easily and is pictured at the 2007 AWC National in Kansas City. "Theron" - Ch. Tivio's No Boundaries ( by Am/Can Ch. Tivio's Touch Gold, JC) Breeders: John & Tracy Hite, Scott & Annemieke Price Owners: Mike & Wendy Peters, Tivio Well worth the wait - Theron returned to the ring and during her second wknd out went WB/BOW/BOB and GROUP 1st from the Bred-By class over Top ranked and Group winning specials!! Pictured with well respected Breeder-Judge Mr. Russell McFadden. Theron is trained, conditioned ALWAYS handled by John Hite (her other daddy). Theron finished with multiple majors and will now start her running career. Theron ran at her first ASFA trial on June 18/19 and went 4th the first day and 2nd the next - she loves it!!!! Theron's sister - "Scarlet" Ch. Tivio's Boundless Owners - John & Karren Pynsia Scarlet finished with two 5 point majors, of which one was a Specialty BOW win. She now will try her hand at Rally and enjoy being a couch dog. "Ollie" - Ch. Windigo's I'm a Handsome Boy (by Windigo n Kizmit Pretty Is) Breeder - Allen Nowatzki Owners/Handlers - Kathy & Brittany Hampton Ollie was owner handled finishing with three majors. We are very proud of Britt, Kathy and Ollie. "Hellon" - Can Ch. Briarshan's Hellon Wheels ( by Ch. Briarshan's Skye O'Sinclair) Breeder/Owner: Janice Morrison Hellon was shown sparingly and is a BOB winner over Specials from the classes. Unfortuntely, Hellon was lost and is still missing.
